Und was tut man in seiner Not?
Man fragt Leute, die sich damit auskennen.

Vielleicht helfen dir ja ein paar Zitate weiter:

He seems incapable of mentioning the figure Old Man Trouble without quoting the Gershwin song which gave the character form. While this may have been humorous the first time Pratchett used it, by Thief of Time the joke begins to wear thin. Fortunately, most of the humor (one can hardly call them jokes) in Thief of Time is fresh. The reader may not laugh out loud, as with some of Pratchett's novels, but there will be plenty of internal chuckling.

I was rereading Hogfather today & i came across something that hadn't
registered before.before the Auditors show themselves to Downey he says
"And, since I can carry a tune quite well, I suspect I'm not likely to
attract the attention of Old Man Trouble."..Now I've come across
references to Old Man Trouble before ... I got an impression of a
Freddy Kreuger-style film slasher type.....& had no idea he had anything
against the tunefully impaired....those of you who have heard me sing
will know why this worries me....Does anyone have any idea, based on
either pTerry's and/or your own active imagination, what Old Man Trouble
would do to someone whose singing as been (unfavourably) compared to
caterwauling cats?

Old Man Trouble is the anthropomorphic personification of, well, trouble ie.
like Twoflower, only more malignant, and less likely to get caught up in the
trouble that he creates. The only connection between Old Man Trouble and
singing that I can think of, and the one that I associated with Downey's
comment, is the Gershwin song "I've Got Rhythm" from the musical Girl Crazy,
and, I think, Crazy About You (the same?).
Here's one of the verses that could be relevant:
Old man trouble (old man trouble)
I don't mind him (I don't mind him)
You won't find, you're never gonna find him 'round my door
Oh, I've got rhythm (hey! I've got rhythm)
I've got music (hey! I got music)
I got my girl
Who could ask for anything more?

Checked my Discworld Companion, and yes, I've got Rhythm is a major contributor
to Discworld's Old Man Trouble. You can find the Discworld Companion entry on
OMT at http://www.brokendrum.co.uk/oldman.htm. Tachyon, you'll be alright so
long as you have a) music, b)rhythm, or c) your girl. Otherwise, don't answer
any doors.

Hey hey

I think "old man trouble" is the same "old man troubel" from the Gershwin
song.

Days can be sunny, with never a sigh
Don't need what money can buy
Birds in the trees sing their day full of song
Why shouldn't we sing along?

I'm chipper all the day, happy with my lot
How do I get that way? Look at what I've got

I got rhythm, I got music
I got my man
Who could ask for anything more?
I got daisys, in green pastures
I got my man
Who could ask for anything more?

*OLD MAN TROUBLE*
I don't mind him
You won't find him 'round my door
I got starlight
I got sweet dreams
I got my man
Who could ask for anything more ?

----- scat -----

*OLD MAN TROUBLE*
I don't mind him
You won't find him, 'round my door
I got startlight
I got sweet dreams
I got my man
Who could ask for anything more ?

I got rhythm, I got music
I got daisys, in green pastures
I got startlight
I got sweet dreams
I got my man
Who could ask for anything more ?
